Complete Release in PDF Format UC DAVIS (2-0 MPSF, 2-0 overall) picked up its second MPSF win to begin the season, 21-11 at home over St. Mary's last Saturday. Senior Molly Lapolla, junior Gina Hoffmire, and freshman Hannah Mirza tallied four goals apiece. Senior Britt Farquharson posted three goals and two assists and sophomore Vannessa Jamison had a team-high five ground balls. The Aggies hit the east coast for three games, beginning Thursday (Mar. 4) at Villanova. Games at Temple and Manhattan follow on Saturday (Mar. 6) and Monday (Mar. 8). #15 STANFORD (0-0 MPSF, 2-2 overall) split two home games this past weekend, coming up short of top-ranked Northwestern (18-11) before bouncing back to edge No. 19 Ohio State in overtime (11-10). The Cardinal trailed OSU 9-6 with about eight minutes left, before scoring five unanswered that carried into OT. Lauren Schmidt delivered a hat trick and Annie Reed picked up 13 saves in 70 minutes against the Buckeyes. Read had another 13-save effort vs. the Wildcats. Julie Christy posted a hat trick. Davidson and No. 14 Vanderbilt visit this week. DENVER (1-0 MPSF, 4-2 overall) blasted Mt. St. Mary's Sunday, 18-2, as Ali Flury and Bonnie Wells each poured in four goals. Lauren Ciccomascolo recorded three goals and four assists and Lexi Sanders dished six assists, tying for the third most in Denver history. The Pioneers, who also routed Duquesne last Monday (20-6), host 11th-ranked Loyola (MD.) Wednesday (Mar. 3) and Holy Cross Saturday (Mar. 6). OREGON (0-0 MPSF, 2-2 overall) battled a pair of nationally-ranked teams on the road last week, falling to No. 4 North Carolina (22-5) before nearly upsetting No. 17 William & Mary (15-13). Jana Drummond recorded a game-high five goals vs. the Tribe. Erin Chisnell added a pair of goals along with three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Salliebeth Finnegan picked up 10 saves in goal. The Ducks host Louisville Saturday (Mar. 6). ST. MARY'S (0-1 MPSF, 1-3 overall) dropped a 21-11 MPSF contest at UC Davis last Saturday, as Juliet Munroe recorded a game-high five goals. Jillian Chong added four goals and one assist and Mariah Walk had two goals and one assist. Maggie Schwab picked up three ground balls and caused three turnovers. The Gaels are off until Mar. 9 when Detroit visits. FRESNO STATE (0-0 MPSF, 0-1 overall) dropped its 2010 opener at Villanova Monday (Mar 1), 18-4. Amanda Cross, Margaret Wolford, Michelle Rose, and Amira Ferrell each scored once as the Bulldogs began their second season of play. Katie Wilbur collected saves in goal. FSU stays back east, at Central Connecticut State Wednesday, at UMBC Friday, and Navy Sunday. CALIFORNIA (0-1 MPSF, 0-3 overall) fell twice at home, 19-5 to Ohio State and 17-3 to the nation's top-ranked team, Northwestern. Alysse Kennedy scored twice against the Buckeyes and Vail Horn twice against the Wildcats. Allie Shropshire had eight saves against Northwestern. The Bears host Davidson Tuesday (Mar. 2).
