SEATTLE PACIFIC Kristi Hayashida tied the 16-year-old school record on the balance beam with a winning 9.925, while the Falcons compiled a season-high 192.600 in a quad meet at UC Davis (Feb. 24). Hayashida, whose previous beam best was 9.90, nailed a near-flawless routine to equal the school standard established by Alison Siegel on Feb. 3, 2001 (Pre-MPSF era). Hayashida’s mark also equaled the 15-year old MPSF record in the event established by Sacramento State’s Nirvana Zaher on Feb. 22, 2002 (inaugural MPSF season).

UC DAVIS won its seventh straight meet, scoring 194.650 in a home quad against Sacramento State, San Jose State, and Seattle Pacific (Feb. 24). Alexis Brown scored a winning 39.300 in the all-around, her fourth all-around of 39-plus this year, and tied the school balance beam record of 9.900 for the second straight Friday. She became the first Aggie to score 9.900 on beam twice. Katy Nogaki shared the vault tile (9.800), Yonni Michovska shared the uneven bars win (9.825), and Kara Jones and Yasmine Yektaparast took part in a five-way floor victory (9.875). SAN JOSE STATE totaled a second-place 193.900 at the UC Davis Quad. Katie Won and Taylor Chan tied for first on the floor (9.875), with Chan tying her career-best. She posted her third consecutive floor title and fourth this season. Haleigh Shepard won her first collegiate title with a career-high 9.80 on vault.

Jamie Lewis shared the vault win (9.775) and tied for third on floor (9.80) at Bridgeport.

ALASKA-ANCHORAGE Kendra Daniels matched the No. 2 balance beam in MPSF history in the second dual at UC Davis (Feb. 19), scoring 9.90. The mark was an all-time Seawolves’ record, and just the fifth 9.90 in school history on any event. The UAA 48.400 beam total tied the eighth-best for the program, while the 48.550 floor, 48.200 bars, and 192.700 total were also season-high.
