DAVID WIECZOREK OF PEPPERDINE MPSF/MOLTEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Pepperdine redshirt junior outside hitter David Wieczorek (Chicago, IL/Loyola Academy) led the Waves' offense last week with a .360 hitting clip (37-10-75) through wins at No. 4 UC Irvine (Feb. 14) and at home over No. 15 USC (Feb. 17). He also served four aces, and collected 10 digs and five blocks (two solo) for the week, and totaled 44.5 points over his nine sets played (4.94 P/S). In the four-set upset at UCI, he put up 19 kills with a .350 clip, while serving three aces and recording a pair of solo stuffs. PRICE JARMAN OF BYU MPSF/MOLTEN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BYU senior middle blocker Price Jarman (Las Vegas, NV/Bonanza HS) helped the Cougars secure a pair of road sweeps last week on the defensive end. Jarman put up a match-best seven blocks -- three more than anyone else on the court---in front of a record-setting crowd at Grand Canyon (Feb. 15). In the next sweep at Concordia (Feb. 17), Jarman contributed a seasonhigh tying and match-best eight blocks, along with two digs and seven kills. Jarman hit an errorless .412 for the week (7-0-17), and totaled 15 blocks over six sets (2.50 B/S). This is the first career MPSF weekly honor for Jarman. NO. 12 PEPP TOPS NO. 4 UCI; CUI EARNS FIRST-EVER MPSF WIN

No. 10 PEPPERDINE (2-1 MPSF/7-3 Overall) David Wieczorek totaled 37 kills (4.11 K/S) with a .360 hitting clip as the Waves earned a pair of impressive wins at No. 4 UC Irvine (Feb. 14) and at home over No. 15 USC (Feb. 17) in an MPSF match. He also served three aces and had two solo blocks in the four-set non-conference road win, which avenged an earlier home loss to the Anteaters. Michael Wexter totaled 10 blocks for the week (1.11 B/S). Pepperdine visits UCSB Wednesday (Feb. 21) before hosting No. 2 UCLA Friday (Feb. 23) in a conference match.

No. RV CONCORDIA (1-3 MPSF/5-6 Overall) won for the first time ever in MPSF action, 3-0 over Stanford (Feb. 15). Taylor Falduti tied his career-high of nine blocks. Darcy Taig went errorless, collecting nine kills on 14 swings (.643), and Jacob Weiser picked up 10 digs. The Eagles host Grand Canyon Thursday (Feb. 22) and visit USC Friday (Feb. 23) in MPSF play, and then host CSUN Saturday (Feb. 24).

No. 6 BYU (3-0 MPSF/10-4 Overall) twice won 3-0 in its first-ever visits to Grand Canyon (Feb. 15) and Concordia (Feb. 17), moving into a first-place tie with UCLA entering the week. Brenden Sander hit a season-high .545 (14-2-22) in Phoenix, and totaled eight blocks in six sets for the week. Price Jarman was seven for an errorless 17 for the week (.412) and totaled 15 blocks (2.50 B/S). BYU faces Stanford in a two-match series this week, on the road Wednesday and at home Saturday.

No. 2 UCLA (3-0 MPSF/14-2 Overall) hosts No. 1 Long Beach State Wednesday (Feb. 21, 7:30 pm; Pac-12 Networks), completing a two-match series with the 49ers. The No. 2 Bruins look to avenge a four-set loss in the Pyramid last Saturday (Feb. 17). UCLA, however, managed to pick up a straight-set MPSF home win over No. 15 USC (Feb. 14). Daenan Gyimah hit .633 (201-30) for the week, and served an ace in each of the last two points of the USC match. UCLA also visits Pepperdine Friday (Feb. 23) as MPSF play resumes.

STANFORD (1-2 MPSF/3-11 Overall) hit a season-high .489 and served eight aces, while Jaylen Jasper recorded careerhighs of 20 kills and .633 hitting to help the Cardinal post their first conference win, 3-1 at Grand Canyon (Feb. 17). Eric Beatty hit .524 (12-1-24) and served two aces. Stanford has a two-match series with BYU this week, hosting the Cougars Wednesday (Feb. 21, 7 pm; Pac-12 Networks) and then traveling to Provo Saturday (Feb. 24, 8 pm; BYUtv).

No. RV USC (1-3 MPSF/4-10 Overall) took No. 12 Pepperdine to five sets last Saturday (Feb. 17) on the road, as Jack Wyett had a match-high 20 kills along with seven digs. Gianluca Grasso added nine kills, 10 digs, three blocks and two aces, USC hosts Concordia (Feb. 23) and Grand Canyon (Feb. 24) this week.

No. 12 GRAND CANYON (1-3 MPSF/11-5 Overall) dropped home matches to BYU (3-0) and Stanford (3-1) this past week. The Antelopes are back in action for their first-ever MPSF road contests this week, visiting Concordia (Feb. 22) and USC (Feb. 24).
