DENVER (10-7-2 overall, 8-1-1 MPSF) saw its remarkable season come to an end in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday, 4-0 at No. 17 UC Davis. After a 2-5 start to the schedule, Denver ran off five consecutive wins and would ultimately stay unbeaten through 10 straight games, spanning over all of October and two weeks in November. The Pioneers wrapped up their first-ever MPSF Title during the second to last weekend of the season, resulting in their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1970. In addition to placing its entire starting lineup on the All-MPSF teams, Denver went on to sweep the three major conference awards this year, as senior Kyle Christensen was named MPSF Player of the Year, freshman Sam Garza the newcomer of the year, and Bobby Muuss the coach of the year.
