NEW MEXICO (7-5-2 overall, 3-2-0 MPSF) junior Justin Davis put away an 83rd-minute game-winning goal at home Friday as the Lobos edged Stanford 2-1 in non-conference action. Junior PJ Wilson tied the game in the 35th-minute. Sophomore goalkeeper Eric Staver registered six saves. UNLV visits Albuquerque Friday (Oct. 31) in the only game of the upcoming week. The Lobos will attempt to avenge a 2-1 loss in Las Vegas on Oct. 17.

DENVER (7-5-1 overall, 5-0-0 MPSF) tied Alabama A&M at home this past Saturday, 1-1, in a break from conference competition. The outcome marked the first draw for the Pioneers since the final game of 2007. Senior Joe Mathot scored an early second half penalty kick. Freshman Gavin Dawson picked up five saves in 37 minutes of goalkeeping. The Pioneers now return to the MPSF, as San Jose State and Sacramento State visit Friday and Sunday (Oct. 31 & Nov. 2). Denver won 3-2 (OT) and 2-1 respectively against each team two weekends ago.

UNLV (8-4-1 overall, 3-2-0 MPSF) opens the second-half of the conference schedule in Albuquerque, once again facing New Mexico Friday (Oct. 31). Last time out, sophomore Daniel Cruz put away the 54th-minute eventual game-winner, as the Rebels stunned the Lobos in Las Vegas, 2-1. Senior goalkeeper Hawk Mummey tallied six first half saves to help lift his team into a second place tie. Cruz owns 13 points this year, while senior Lamar Neagle leads the MPSF with 14 points on a conference-best seven goals.

SAN JOSE STATE (5-5-3 overall, 1-4-0 MPSF) visits Denver Friday (Oct. 31) and Air Force Sunday (Nov. 2) to begin round two in the conference. The Spartans edged the Falcons, 1-0, and fell to the Pioneers in overtime, 3-2, in their last two matches before last week's bye. Efrain Burgos Jr. leads SJSU with four goals and nine points.

AIR FORCE (4-9-0 overall, 2-3-0 MPSF) hosts Sacramento State Friday and San Jose State Sunday (Oct. 31 & Nov. 2) following a bye week. The Falcons topped the hornets on the road, 2-1, and fell to the Spartans, 1-0, to complete the first half of the MPSF slate. Junior Steve Noller leads Air Force with four goals and nine points.

SACRAMENTO STATE (6-6-2 overall, 1-4-0 MPSF) hits the road to begin the second-half of its conference schedule. The Hornets take on Air Force Friday (Oct. 31) and first place Denver Sunday (Nov. 2). In their last two games, the Hornets lost to each of these teams at home by a 2-1 count. Senior Blake Nunes leads Sac with five goals and 11 points on the year.

DAVIS NAMED MPSF BRINE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Woodland, Calif. - New Mexico junior midfield Justin Davis (Litchfield Park, AZ/Westview HS) scored a late game-winning goal in the Lobos' 2-1 win over Pac-10 opponent Stanford Friday in Albuquerque. He converted in the 83rd-minute to break a 1-1 tie. The goal marked the fourth of the season for Davis, three of which have been game-winners.
