UCSB Posts Several Top MPSF Times in Win

UCSB women and men defeated UC San Diego at home (Nov. 4), by scores of 155-102 and 151-105, respectively. Heaven Quintana swept the women’s butterfly events, taking the 100 (54.21) and 200 (MPSF No. 1 time 2:01.12), and swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:45.13). Rachel Forbes posted the MPSF’s top 1650 free (17:02.28). Billy Mullis posted four wins; placing first in the men’s 100 back (49.92), 200 back (1:50.07), 400 IM (MPSF No. 1 time 3:57.77), and the 200 medley relay (22.97 split). Logan Hotchkiss won the 1650 free with an MPSF No. 1 time (16:10.88) and placed first in the 500 free (4:35.88).

CAL POLY Sascha Keir and Amelia Feick each posted two victories as the Mustangs swept all 16 events against Pepperdine to win the meet, 178-105 (Nov. 4). Keir won the 100 back (58.12) and 100 free (53.47), while Feick won the 200 IM (2:08.86), and 100 breast (1:07.04). Makenzie Kamei won both the 1-meter (212.20) and 3-meter (268.65) dives.

UC DAVIS Courtney Schultz and Solie Laughlin were double-event winners, with Schultz taking the 200 free (1.53.95) and 100 free (52.21) and Laughlin finishing first in the 100 back (56.75) and 200 back (2.01.86), in wins over CSU East Bay and Fresno State (Nov. 3). In the last event of the night, the 800 free relay quartet of Schultz, Olivia Smith, Laughlin, and Iris Brand put together a strong finish (7.39.87) to help the Aggies to a narrow five-point victory over the Bulldogs.
