Click here for the complete release UC DAVIS won its fifth straight dual, a 173-114 outcome at CSU Bakersfield last Saturday, as Kayleigh Foley and Liliana Alvarez were double-event victors. Foley claimed the 50 (23.96) and 100 Free (51.80), while Alvarez took the 100 (1:04.94) and 200 Breast (2:22.53). Other UCD wins included Cara Silvas’ 1000 Free (10:33.44), Sara Ramos’ 200 Fly (2:07.40) and Megan Leung’s 100 Fly (58.35). The Aggies host UC Santa Barbara in their final regular season meet Saturday (Jan. 28). UC SANTA BARBARA women defeated UNLV at home, 166-134. Andrea Ward, Allie Knight, and Sophia Yamauchi were each double-event winners, in addition to them teaming up with Kendall Neely for a 200 Medley Relay win (1:45.17). Ward claimed the 200 Free (1:53.05) and 100 Fly (55.47), Knight the 100 (57.47) and 200 Back (2:03.53), and Yamauchi the 100 Breast (1:04.17) and 200 IM (2:05.25). The Gauchos visit Pacific and UC Davis this weekend for a pair of duals. SAN DIEGO Francesca Finucane won a total of three individual events and was part of four winning relays in helping lead USD to victory in the Beach Cup this past Saturday against Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, and Pepperdine. She won the 500 Free (4:59.45), 200 Free (1:52.52), and 100 Free (52.61). Melissa Andruzzi claimed the 200 Breast (2:21.65) and 200 IM (2:07.55), while Keenan Lineback was also a double-event winner in the 400 IM (4:26.98) and 1650 Free (17:12.01). The Toreros claimed a total of 14 out of 20 events over the two-day meet. NORTHERN COLORADO Junior diver Sara Moldenhauer paced the Bears on Friday in a dual loss to Colorado State (187-111) as she hit her NCAA Zone Regional qualifying standard on the three-meter board in winning the event with 294.90 points. She also posted a career-best one-meter dive (268.80), good for second in the meet. Her three-meter dive placed her third in the all-time record books at UNC, while the one-meter ranks fourth. Jennifer Smith claimed the 50 Free (24.99) race. CSU BAKERSFIELD Isabell Nystrom claimed 500 Free (5:18.07) as did Louise Westergren in the 50 Fly (26.88), and Madie Goodvin in 200 IM (2:20.50) in last Friday’s dual loss to San Jose State (156-104). Against UC Davis the next day, Rachel McCall won 200 (1:52.12) and 500 Free (4:59.40), and Jordan Reed took both diving boards (1M, 215.60; 3M. 236.15). SEATTLE U men defeated Simon Fraser twice this past weekend (116-88; 109.5-90.5), as Murray Longbotham set four Connolly Center records. Individually on Jan. 20, he won the 200 (1:40.41) and 500 Free (4:37.45) in facility record times. Longbotham then swam the second leg of the 200 Free Relay (1:23.33), before providing a third leg of the 400 Medley Relay (3:23.97) on Jan. 21, both resulting in record times. The Redhawk women claimed Friday’s meet over SFU, 111-88. WYOMING men won 10 of 16 events at Air Force last Friday to claim a 173-127 dual victory. Cowboy wins included Marshall Dilworth in the 100 Back (50.68), which also started an eight-event win stretch for UW, followed by Brandon Fischer in 100 Breast (56.35) and Trevor LeValley in 200 Fly (1:55.14). Jeff Frey took 50 Free (20.72), before Fischer’s second title in 200 Breast (2:07.76). The Pokes had a top-three sweep on the one-meter diving board, led by Dalton Haas top score (286.95). PACIFIC MaryElla Randall highlighted a dominant showing by the women in a pair of dual meet victories over Fresno Pacific and host UC Santa Cruz. She won both individual races she swam, claiming 50 (25.03) and 100 Free (53.64), as well as swimming the anchor of the top 200 Medley Relay team (1:46.40). Cooper Rogers recorded a victory for the men in the 100 Back (52.50). He also was on the Tigers’ winning 400 Free Relay (3:07.81). LOYOLA MARYMOUNT placed third at the San Diego Beach Cup this past weekend, placing ahead of Pepperdine. Tammy Choy was a double-event winner, touching up first in the 100 (59.14) and 200 Back (2:06.23). LMU managed a second place 200 Free Relay result (1:38.41). The Lions are in a tri-meet at CSU Bakersfield Saturday. UNLV men dropped a 134-122 decision at UC Santa Barbara last Saturday, as Andrew Morrell was the top swimmer in both the 100 (57.11) and 200 Breast (2:04.75). He also swam on the winning 400 Free Relay team (3:07.22). AIR FORCE Corydon Butler was a multiple-event winner for the men in the 200 (1:40.27) and 500 Free (4:39.44) for the second straight meet, hosting Wyoming last Friday. Butler came back to win 500 Free (4:40.04) against Denver the next day. FINUCANE, LONGBOTHAM MPSF ATHLETES OF THE WEEK Seattle U junior Murray Longbotham (Mercer Island, WA/Mercer Island HS) set four Connolly Center records last weekend.
