No. 23 UNLV Giacomo Gremizzi and Balint Batka were double-event winners, leading the 23rd-ranked Rebels to a dual win at CSU Bakersfield last Saturday. Gremizzi claimed titles in the 400 IM (4.02.13) and 200 Breast (2.06.95), while Batka was the first to stop the clock in the 200 Back (1.52.15) and 200 Fly (1.48.47). Other Rebel wins came from Tom Paco-Pedroni's 50 Free (21.19), Joe Riggert's 500 Free (4:36.57), Henrique Machado's 100 Back (51.40), David Szele's 100 Breast (57.59), and Cody Roberts' 100 Fly (50.19). UNLV also won the 200 Medley Relay (1:32.86).
CSU BAKERSFIELD Troy Neklason swept the diving events last Saturday against UNLV, with a 278.00 on one-meter and 248.40 on three-meter. Other Roadrunner winners included Mitchell Huxhold in the 1000 Free (9.25.81), Gabriel Bertrand in the 200 Free (1.41.92), Joao Foresto in the 100 Free (46.85), as well as the 400 Free Relay (3.06.55).
PACIFIC returned to action for the first time in 2013, as the Tiger men and women visited nationally ranked Stanford in dual action last Saturday. Junior Dai Wilson highlighted the men, finishing with a team-best third-place in the 100 Fly (50.73), placing ahead of two Cardinal swimmers. Sophomore Dekel Shahaff was a top Tiger on the women's side, third in the 100 Fly (57.76) and ahead of one Stanford competitor. Cristina Mardones also took third in the 100 Breast (1.06.32) and 200 Breast (2.23.13).
SAN DIEGO hosted a relay meet against San Jose State last Saturday to begin the 2013 calendar year. Several Torero relay teams finished second on the day, including the 300 Fly (3.00.26), 300 Back (3.00.15), 300 Breast (3.25.62), 200 Free (1.37.25), 800 Free (7.49.74), and 1500 Free (15.53.61).
HAWAII men turned in several second-place swims in a home meet against USC, Wisconsin, and Boise State last Friday. Luca Mazzurana placed second in the 200 IM (1.53.71) and 100 Fly (50.22), as did Ryan Makuta in 100 Free (46.66), Eduardo Guimaraes in 200 Free (1.40.80) and Paulo de Paula in 100 Breast (57.38). For the Rainbow Wahine, Karima Chuk was third in 1000 Free (10.13.58), as was Rachel Cote in 100 Back (56.99) and Katie Stover in 100 Free (52.25). In diving, Luke Hayes claimed the one (324.90) and three-meter boards.

Pacific junior Hayley Shillington (Thousand Oaks, CA/Oaks Christian HS) swam in four races against No. 7 Stanford. She went 1:52.82 in the 200 Free, 52.79 in the 100 Free and 5:12.18 in the 500 Free. CSU Bakersfield redshirt senior Alex Daneke (Lodi, CA/UC Davis) led CSUB to a relay victory and posted three top- three performances in the Jan. 5 dual against No. 23 UNLV. Daneke anchored the Roadrunners' 400 Free Relay that finished first in a time of 3:06.55. Daneke was second in the 200 Back (1:54.74) and second in the 200 Free (1:42.29).
